Main Building (age 3+)
Welcome to the Main Building!
The main Building is where your child will continue their journey with us when they turn three. They will stay in this building until they are ready to move on to ‘big school’.
Your child will be assigned a key worker. The room supervisor in this building is Emma.
Tapestry will be used in the main building to share observations and photos with you on a weekly basis. This will keep you updated with what we have been learning about and any topics we are focusing on. Tapestry is also a way that children are assessed according to EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).
We use ‘in the moment’ planning in the main building. this means that all topics are based around the children’s interests. The staff then extend this to plan further activities to support their learning, progression and development. The children in the main building are encouraged to select their own toys and activities. This supports out planning as it shows what their main interests are.
The hourly rate for main building is £6.50
Settling in sessions
After your initial visit and introduction to the setting, we will offer you a range of settling in session options. Session 1- will be a set half an hour where you will stay with your child. Session 2- will be a set half an hour where you can leave your child with our staff team to let them settle in. Session 3- (if required) will be a set hour where your child will get to settle into more of the setting’s routines. If you only require one session or feel your child needs more than 3, this can be arranged to suit you and your child’s needs.
Goals for 3-4 year olds (helping to prepare them for their transition to primary school).
The overall objective of the curriculum for three-year olds is to promote holistic development, including physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and language development. To support the children and prepare them through teaching and learning to enable them to be ‘school-ready’ and prepared for their transition and next step in their education journey. To provide them with the skills they will need to learn and develop in a school environment, e.g. joining with letters and sounds activities and structure within the setting’s daily routines e.g. register, tidy up time and circle time. Assessment for three-year-olds should focus on observing and documenting their progress and development in various areas. It’s important to track a child’s growth, development, and achievements. It’s important to remember that children develop at their own pace, so flexibility and individualised attention are key components of any curriculum for young children.
